Privacy policy
Liberty Moving is published by LibertyMovement.org, a division of Cazenovia Books, Buffalo, New York ("we"). This page says what the site collects, what it does with it, and where the ranking data comes from.
What we collect
Page views. When you open a page, your browser sends us the page address, the address of the page that linked you here, and your window width. We keep only the page path, the linking site's domain (and only when it is not this site), a campaign tag if the link carried one (for example ?ref=substack), a device size class (phone, tablet or desktop) and the time. We do not store your IP address, a cookie, a device fingerprint or a user ID, and we cannot tell one visitor from another. If your browser sends the Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, the page sends nothing.
Forms. If you send feedback, join the agent waiting list on a county page or ask for updates, we store what you typed: your message, your email address if you gave one, the county you were on, and the time. We use it only to answer you, to tell you when the agent program or a data update is ready, and to fix the data.
Nothing else. No advertising trackers, no third-party analytics, no social buttons that report back.
Where it is stored
The site runs on Vercel and stores its database on Supabase, both in the United States. Vercel keeps standard web server logs for a short time under its ownprivacy policy. We keep page-view records for 13 months (older records are deleted when the site's administrator opens the statistics) and form submissions until you ask us to delete them.
Your choices
Turn on Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track in your browser and the site records no page views. To see or delete anything you sent through a form, write to us through thefeedback form with the email address you used.
Children
The site is not aimed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their information.
Data sources and credits
The county scores are computed from these public sources. Each is the work of its publisher, and the ranking's weights and conclusions are ours, not theirs.
- U.S. Census Bureau, American Community Survey 5-year estimates: population, property taxes and home values, class of worker, household types.
- County Health Rankings & Roadmaps, University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute: life expectancy and related health measures. Used for non-commercial purposes with attribution, under their terms of use.
- CDC WISQARS and data.cdc.gov: homicide. The CDC bars publishing rates based on fewer than ten deaths, so this site shows a 0–10 score and a comparison instead of a rate.
- FEMA National Risk Index: flood and hurricane risk. Public domain; FEMA does not endorse this site.
- EPA Air Quality System, AirData: air quality index by county.
- MIT Election Data and Science Lab, County Presidential Election Returns and the state election boards: 2024 presidential vote.
- Streamlined Sales Tax Governing Board, state revenue departments, the Tax Foundation and Avalara: state and local sales tax rates.
- Fraser Institute, Economic Freedom of North America: the state economic-freedom score. © Fraser Institute, cited with permission of its public release.
- State gun-rights scores: compiled by the publisher from state law.
- Map boundaries: U.S. Census Bureau cartographic boundary files via us-atlas.
